• Real-time multiplayer server building technology ‘World’ unveiled at a standalone booth (C1735)
  • Even small development teams can develop MMO games

AFI (CEO Kwon Oh-hyun), which operates the global game server SaaS platform ‘BACKND’, will participate in the ‘GDC (Game Developers Conference) 2025’ held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, USA from March 19th to 21st with a single booth (C1735). At this event, BACKND will unveil the ‘World’ server technology for MMO game development and plans to strengthen its global competitiveness through the new product ‘World’ service.

The ‘World’ at the end is a service that provides a persistent server infrastructure that keeps the game world intact even when the player logs out, and a platform API that allows easy use of it.

It is designed to automatically handle difficult issues such as real-time synchronization, server expansion, and data management, providing a stable environment even for large-scale traffic, and reducing unnecessary operating costs. In particular, if you use the ‘World’ product, all of the following cumbersome tasks are omitted: Network Engine, Database Handling, Scaling-OUT Architecture, Cloud Setting, Deploy, and Monitoring.

Game developers can provide users with a smooth play experience in large-scale MMORPGs where user interaction is important or in action games that require fast movement. Thanks to the network engine that synchronizes objects and game environment data in real time, all players experience the same game state even in a large concurrent connection environment.

CEO Kwon Oh-hyun of Dukkut said, “MMO game development has a high technological barrier to entry, but with ‘World,’ even small development teams can now develop MMO games without the burden of building infrastructure.” He added, “Through GDC 2025, we plan to showcase ‘World’s’ innovative technology to developers around the world and support more developers to freely take on the challenge of MMO development.”

The end result is that the beta service of ‘World’ is currently being provided for free, and through this GDC, they will be demonstrating a demo directly to developers and receiving feedback.
