Kakao Games (CEO Sangwoo Han) announced on the 28th that it has released a new trailer for ‘God Save Birmingham’, an open-world zombie survival simulator currently in development by Ocean Drive Studio (CEO Heejae Kim).
‘God Save Birmingham’ is a new PC game from premium indie game developer Ocean Drive Studios that is preparing to launch on Steam Early Access. Set in 14th century Birmingham, England, the game tells the story of a city overrun by zombies, where players must find food, water, and other survival items, as well as fight to find a safe place.
‘God Save Birmingham’ was first revealed at ‘Gamescom 2024’ last year and has received favorable reviews from many visitors for its ▲unique worldview of the medieval zombie survival genre ▲realistic graphics and physical effects implemented with Unreal Engine 5 ▲creative combat system utilizing surrounding objects ▲detailed depiction of bedding, tables, and cooking utensils, etc.
The newly released 9-minute-long new game trailer gives a glimpse into the realistically recreated 14th century medieval Birmingham, England, with three-dimensional gameplay utilizing terrain features, suspenseful sounds, and a realistic physics engine.
The survivors in the video use objects and terrain around them to escape the dangerous area full of zombies, such as moving chairs to get to higher places or using ladders to get to the next building. You can also see the highly implemented physics engine, such as a table breaking under the weight of the character or a zombie tripping over a stack of boxes.
‘God Save Birmingham’ is in continuous development following its Early Access launch on PC, with plans to officially release it on Xbox and PlayStation.
Meanwhile, Kakao Games signed a global publishing contract for ‘God Save Birmingham’ and will support localization and marketing for the global launch, while Ocean Drive Studio will be responsible for the overall services, including game development and operation.
Kakao Games previously signed a global publishing contract for ‘Lost Idols: The Witch of Hypocrisy’ and ‘Section 13’, developed by Ocean Drive Studio.
