Gachon University (President Gil-yea Lee) announced that it successfully held the ‘2024 Prospective Graduate Achievement Presentation and Job Matching Exhibition’ for third-year students in the Game and Film Department, an early employment contract department, at an on-campus event venue on December 21.

The event aims to highlight the academic and practical achievements of the Class of 2022, who are scheduled to graduate in the spring of 2025 and to strengthen ties with industry.

Presenting the creative project results of prospective graduates
The prospective graduates of the 2022 class presented the results of their projects, which they completed based on their three years of study and practical experience, through a presentation. They also showcased their portfolios and practical capabilities by revealing the games and content they developed in their exhibition spaces.

The results, which actively utilized the latest technologies such as Unity and Unreal engines, AR/VR, and AI, were highly evaluated by industry professionals in attendance, proving the students’ expertise and potential for growth.

Prospective graduates who stand out
The exhibition highlighted the achievements of prospective graduates with practical skills. Yang Ji-Wook, who has been working as a game developer at ‘Delicious Games for 1 year and 8 months, said, “I have grown a lot as a game developer while working and studying at the same time,” and expressed his aspiration to contribute to the development of the industry.

Dasol Lee, a student working as a UI designer at the same company, said, “I realized the importance of user experience through UI design and gained expertise,” and expressed her will to continue to present creative designs centered on users in the future.

Accurate results through industry-academia cooperation
Gachon University’s Department of Game and Film contributes to solving the manpower shortage in the game and content industry and fostering creative talent by strengthening students’ practical skills through a curriculum that reflects the latest technologies, such as AR/VR and AI, and collaborative projects with partner companies.

In particular, this presentation was evaluated as a meaningful opportunity for students to present their actual achievements and to form a connection with the industry. In addition, it served as a motivational opportunity for juniors and drew positive responses from those in attendance.

The goal is to foster creative talents who will lead the future.
Gachon University’s Game and Film Department was selected as the best university in the media field in the ‘2024 Industry Perspective University Evaluation’, once again proving the excellence of the early employment contract department. The early employment contract department is a program in which companies directly participate in the student selection process to provide customized education centered on practice, and students grow into talents with both practice and academics by combining one year of theoretical teaching and two years of corporate practical experience.

Professor Kim Jung-Yoon, the head of the department, said, “Based on cooperation with the industry, we are consistently producing globally competitive talents who can respond to the latest technology trends,” and “We will continue to utilize the strengths of the early employment contract department to resolve the employment crisis and strengthen industrial competitiveness.” Along with the ‘Early Employment Contract Department Leading University Development Project’ supported by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology, Gachon University plans to foster creative talents who will lead future industries.
