  • Five GLS 2024 Excellent Game Winners Selected by Combining User and Public Pitching Evaluations

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Yoo In-chon) and the Korea Creative Content Agency (Acting President Yoo Hyeon-seok, hereinafter referred to as KOCCA) held the ‘Game Level Up Showcase 2024 (hereinafter referred to as GLS 2024)’ for three days from the 4th at SJ Kunsthalle in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

GLS 2024, now in its third year, is an event that introduces the achievements and vision of excellent domestic indie games developed through the game planning support project of KOCCA.

This event, attended by a total of 500 people including the general public, user evaluation groups, publishers, investors, and the press, provided business opportunities such as ▲free indie game experience ▲indie game user evaluation ▲public pitching ▲meetups.

◆ Startup Corporations, Individuals, and Pre-Startup Sectors Participate in 26 Games

This year, a total of 26 games participated, including 11 games in the Startup-Corporation category, 5 games in the Startup-Individual category, and 10 games in the Pre-Startup category.

The Startup-Corporation category was participated by ▲High Spirit ▲Playday ▲Jibang Games ▲Arumdamda ▲Bridge Music ▲Nitros ▲Savery Games ▲Studio Doodal ▲Project Moreum ▲Modle Studio ▲Odyssey .

In the startup-individual category, ▲Saebyeok ▲Writers ▲Refuel ▲Fake Games ▲Gino Games were introduced.

Lastly, in the preliminary startup category, there was an opportunity to experience ▲ Jimin-ki’s computer game ▲ White Kite’s ▲ BBB’s ▲ Viewshift’s ▲ Geomgyudan’s ▲ Thunderfox Studio’s ▲ Team Flask’s ▲ Black Guardian’s ▲ Harmonics ▲ JJ Games’ .

◆ GSL Excellent Game Awards Ceremony Announces 5 Winners.. Awards for Startup and Pre-Startup Categories

The GLS Excellent Game Awards Ceremony, which marked the end of GLS 2024, selected a total of five excellent games in each category by combining the user evaluation and public pitching evaluation scores in conjunction with the evaluation of the 2024 game planning support project implementation results.

The Startup-Corporate category went to ▲Studio Dudal (1st place), ▲Odyssey (2nd place), ▲Modle Studio (3rd place), the Startup-Individual category went to ▲Gino Games (1st place), and the Pre-Startup category went to ▲White Kite (1st place).

KOCCA Acting Director Yoo Hyeon-seok said, “Through this event, we were able to confirm the originality and excellent development capabilities of K-indie games,” and added, “We will continue to spare no support so that the ideas and passion of indie game developers can lead to actual development and commercialization, and so that they can become the future growth engine of the domestic game industry.”
