The ‘Multiplay rogue-lite game using AI bots’ being developed by XOgames was selected as the target for the 2024 future technology game revitalization production support project promoted by Gyeonggi Province.
The Future Technology game revitalization production support project is designed to help small and medium-sized game companies struggling to access new technology due to a lack of capital strengthen their game development capabilities using future technology. XOgames was selected for support after overcoming a final competition rate of 16:1.
XOgames will receive 100 million won in development subsidies and AI data center service cooperation support from the Artificial Intelligence Industry Convergence Agency (AICA).
The Artificial Intelligence Industry Convergence Agency (AICA) is pursuing projects to create an AI industry convergence ecosystem, including building an AI data center, supporting AI companies, and nurturing talent. Promoting revitalizing the artificial intelligence industry ecosystem is crucial to the 2023 Gyeonggi-do-Gwangju win-win agreement. We are participating in this project as a partner organization.
XOgames plans to produce a casebook (manual) containing know-how for applying artificial intelligence to game production and release it to small, medium, and indie game developers. This is expected to revitalize game development using artificial intelligence (AI) and strengthen the game industry’s competitiveness.
In particular, last year, AI data center services from the Artificial Intelligence Industry Convergence Agency (AICA) were provided only to selected companies. Still, even if they are not chosen this year, the judges judge companies to have a high need for artificial intelligence (AI) technology and excellent growth potential. The service will also be supported.
Meanwhile, Skywalk’s ‘3MATCH puzzle RPG-style mobile game using artificial intelligence (AI)’, selected for pilot implementation last year, is scheduled to be officially released in the first half of this year. Skywalk’s game production manual using artificial intelligence (AI) can be downloaded from the center news section of the Gyeonggi Global Game Center website (gcon.or.kr/ggc).
Kim Tae-geun, head of the Digital Innovation Department, said, “After COVID-19, the gaming field has emerged as an important element of future technology convergence, and the game market based on new technology is developing rapidly.” He added, “We will actively support game development using future technology to ensure that Gyeonggi Province can build new technology-based technology.” “We will try to lead the gaming industry market,” he said.
Gyeonggi Province plans to actively expand support for game production using artificial intelligence by holding a future technology activation game forum at the 2024 PlayX4 event held from May 23 to 26 under the theme of combining future technology (AI) and games.
