Chungbuk Global Game Center (hereinafter referred to as Game Center), supported by Cheongju City and operated by Cheongju Cultural Industry Promotion Foundation (CEO Byeon Gwang-seop, hereinafter referred to as Cheongju Cultural Foundation), has kicked off the 2024 game production support project worth 1.43 billion won.
There are two recruitment fields: the ▲Chungbuk Game Company Production Support Project and ▲the Indie Startup Production Support Project, which recruit 12 and 5 companies, respectively.
First, the ▲Chungbuk Game Company Production Support Project, worth a total of 1.2 billion won, will be recruiting until 14:00 on the 21st (Thursday), and will recruit 12 companies capable of developing games without restrictions on game genres, including mobile. Depending on the evaluation, differential support is provided from 80 million won to 90 million won, and matching 10% of the selected company’s contribution is required.
Eligibility for application is a corporate company developing games with its business location in Chungcheongbuk-do or a gaming company headquarters that has confirmed business registration and relocation within three months from the date of the agreement after selection. In the case of a branch with its headquarters located in a foreign location, it must be established in the province before the announcement date. You can apply if you have three full-time employees for three months.
The final selected companies are required to participate in the mid-term evaluation in July. Depending on the evaluation results, the three best companies will receive additional incentives worth up to 50 million won.
▲The Indie Startup Production Support Project, recruiting until 14:00 on Friday the 22nd, supports five companies. Based on the evaluation, three companies will receive 50 million won, an increase of 10 million won from last year, and two will receive 40 million won. Considering the characteristics of indie startups, they are provided with the benefits of marketing training. An office space within the game center is also offered to ease the rent burden.
Eligible applicants are game development business operators whose business location is in Chungcheongbuk-do or who have committed to registering and relocating their business to Chungcheongbuk-do within three months from the date of the agreement after selection. Only companies in business for less than five years can apply.
▲Chungbuk game company production support project ▲Indie startup production support project. The proposed game must be completed and released in both fields by Saturday, November 30th. Offline board games and NFT-linked content and agreements are required in both fields. Games scheduled for commercialization within three months from the date of signing cannot be supported.
Game companies and indie startups in North Chungcheong Province who wish to participate in this contest can apply and submit their application at eNara Help ( www.gosims.go.kr ) by the application deadline.
The Game Center said, “This support project will be an accelerator for the game industry in North Chungcheong Province, which is growing and steadily proving its potential,” and encouraged, “We look forward to receiving a lot of interest and challenges from game companies and indie startups in North Chungcheong Province.”
