The ‘2023 Game Culture Festival (GCF)’ is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Yoo In-chon) and co-organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency (President Cho Hyun-rae, from now on referred to as KOCCA) and Samsung C&T Resort Division (CEO Jeong Hae-rin). It will be held at Everland in Yongin from the 3rd to the 12th.
The Game Culture Festival was created to spread a healthy game culture where all generations can communicate through games and to expand opportunities to enjoy games. A variety of on-site programs in which all visitors can participate will be operated, including ▲mission games based on storytelling, ▲exhibitions and experiences, ▲game OST orchestra concerts, and ▲amateur e-sports competitions.
◆ A treasure hunt mission game with ‘Hotami’
‘Hotam,’ the main character of a story created with the motif of last year’s traditional fairy tale ‘Sun and Moon,’ has returned to a new level. The mission game is played online and offline, where players complete the mission by receiving hints through an on-site QR code and reveal the identity of the treasure through web authentication. It runs until the 12th at Everland Rocksville and Aesop Village and until the 30th at Raptor Ranger.

This game culture festival consists of ▲a Game Exhibition and Experience Zone, ▲Indie Game Zone, ▲GCF Arcade ▲GCF Studio ▲2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games Promotion Zone.
PC and mobile game companies and associations such as ▲Nimble Neuron ▲Smilegate ▲Kakao Games ▲, Two Hands Interactive ▲Elementary Computing Teachers Association ▲Gen.G Global Academy will participate in the game exhibition and experience zone. In particular, the Elementary Computing Teachers Association presents the educational effects of games through the game and brick experience. Gen.G Global Academy offers one-point lessons.
In the Indie Game Zone, you can experience games developed using the graduation works of the Konjinwon Game Talent Institute and UNESCO Memory of the World Heritage at the 2023 Korea Game Jam. GCF Studio is a photo studio utilizing popular game IPs such as ▲Nexon ▲Netmarble ▲Supercell ▲Krafton.
In addition, the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games Promotion Zone has prepared a space where you can experience curling, the representative sport of the Winter Olympics, following the business agreement between the Conjinwon and the Organizing Committee on October 24.
◆ From game OST orchestras to e-sports games, everything is prepared.
A program that the whole family can enjoy together will be held on a particular outdoor stage. On the opening day, the 3rd, at 5 p.m., an OST orchestra concert of popular games such as Nexon’s and Kakao Games’ will be held on the Everland Four Seasons Garden stage. At the Rose Garden, the finals on the 4th and the 5th will be held, as well as event matches by professional gamers and special guests and fan signing events.
