The Korea Game Industry Association (Chief Kang Shin-Cheol) announced it would support 2023 SIGN and hold an event with college students.

2023 SIGN, officially held for the first time this year, will be held on July 28 (Fri) at 10:00 in the auditorium on the 7th floor of Kin Tower, Jeongja-dong, Bundang-gu. The association oversees various business support such as rentals, lectures, and sponsorships, and game presentations and demonstrations are led by university students. The participants are 130 young adults from two college student union clubs and game production clubs at Soongsil University, Soonchunhyang University, and Chung-Ang University, and a total of 29 games will be announced.

The event will be held according to lectures, game presentations, demonstrations, and awards. In the lecture section, the Game Management Committee, Neowiz, and Stove Indie provide information to help young people in the game development and release process. After that, 29 game presentations follow, and participants have free time to demonstrate and evaluate each other’s games and select the best ones. During this time, opinions on the game’s planning intention, development ideas, and complementary elements are shared. The award is decided only by the vote of young people who have demonstrated and exchanged opinions according to the event’s purpose.

SIGN has a distinctive feature that distinguishes it from general indie exhibitions that select excellent games and provide opportunities for production and promotion. This event focuses on exchanges where young people with dreams of game development present their games and exchange development experiences and feedback. Young people have opportunities to share ideas, collaborate on projects through exchanges, and meet new colleagues.

Kang Shin-Cheol, president of the association, said, “While existing indie exhibitions provide opportunities for marketing and publicity to indie game companies, SIGN is an event that creates opportunities led by challenging young gamers.” We want to establish it as a place,” he said.

As sponsors of the event, Neowiz, Nexon Korea, Stove Indie, NCsoft, Kakao Games, Pearl Abyss, Korea Creative Content Agency, Game Management Committee, Game Cultural Foundation, and Chungnam Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency participate to support their challenge.
