Monster Guide Co., Ltd., a Korean film studio and game production company, launched the first Korean romantic comedy-drama-based interactive game ‘Excessive Immersion’ demo version on the game platform Stove Indie.
The demo version, which can be used for free, is the intro of the full version and includes the contents of the drunken protagonist deciding to find the cell phone with the guy he kissed last night, and it can be played for about 30 minutes.
‘Love Too Easily’ is an FMV (Full Motion Video) game based on a Korean romantic comedy-drama. Yeon-woo, a college student studying English, kisses someone at a drinking party the night before and wakes up the next morning with the film cut off and the game begins.
The game tells the story of Yeon-woo, the main character, tracing the events that happened the night before, gathering clues, and finding the truth while solving puzzles. In particular, it is different in that you can enjoy a new game by changing the target to track when playing multiple times.
In addition, ‘No Excess Immersion’ is characterized by the addition of differentiated elements such as various mini-games and quick-time events (QTE), going beyond the existing FMV game genre in which the story and ending of the drama can be made according to the user’s choice.
Oh Hyun-kyung, CEO of Monster Guide, said, “We are challenging the limits of traditional Korean romantic comedy dramas and the genre limits of FMV games. It starts with a simple story in which the female lead falls in love with the wrong man, but in this game, we will leave it entirely up to the user to decide who Yeonwoo will fall in love with.”
On the other hand, ‘Excessive Immersion Prohibited’ was selected as one of the top 50 in the domestic, indie game category of ‘2023 Indie Craft’ and was selected in the ‘2023 Smilegate Membership Indie Game’ category hosted by Smilegate.
Monster Guide will release the full version of the prohibition of excessive immersion for PC and console this summer.
