Smilegate Stove, which operates the indie game platform ‘Stove Indie,’ announced on the 11th (Tue) that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the crowdfunding platform Tumblbug to support indie game developers. Through this business agreement, Stove and Tumblbug plan to gradually expand the scope of cooperation, starting with the collaboration of ‘Funding Pack’, Stove Indie’s creative place support program.
The ‘Funding Pack’ program, the first collaborative project between the two companies, is a program that provides practical support from funding to launch for indie game developers to launch games. Not only can you receive 50% of the successful crowdfunding amount, but it also covers all support for the game launch, including deliberation, creation, and publicity.
Under the ‘Funding Pack’ program under this business agreement, Stove Indie manages and supports the entire game launch process, including deliberation of supported games, support for publicity before and after release, and provision of congratulatory money for launch. Tumblbug serves as a ladder for more creators to receive support, such as introducing and guiding indie game creators to funding packs and promoting target games through Tumblbug channels.
In addition to signing an MOU with Tumblbug, Stove Indie continues to expand the scope of support for indie games, such as launching a funding pack program last year, a business agreement with BIC, and hosting the Stove Indie Awards, establishing itself as a strong support for the indie game industry.
Tumblbug also actively supports game funding, raising development costs and serving as a bridgehead for game developers to secure fans, playing a role as a stepping stone in the indie game world. Through this MOU between the two companies, support for the indie game world is expanded and active, and better games are expected to be released.
Smilegate director Yeo Seung-hwan said, “Through the agreement with Tumblbug, Stove Indie will be able to secure a channel to more actively discover and support indie game creators. “Stove Indie will continue to create new opportunities to support indie game creators,” he said.
Tumblbug CEO Kim Dong-hwan said, “We expect the agreement between the two companies will play a big role for indie game developers who continue to create in harsh environments. Through this, we hope that quality games will be created and new vitality will be breathed into the indie game creation scene.”
