■ Companies participating in export conferences and exhibitions can apply through the website (playx4.or.kr) by April 15th.
■ More than 150 overseas companies in 28 countries including Microsoft decided to participate
The largest convergence game show in the metropolitan area, ‘2022 PlayX4’, is returning to an offline event after three years.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 3rd that it had started preparing for the event in earnest by opening the official Playxo website (playx4.or.kr) and recruiting domestic participating companies by April 15th.
The Play Expo hosted by Gyeonggi-do and organized by the Gyeonggi Content Agency and KINTEX has not been held offline for the past two years due to the corona virus. Gyeonggi-do explains that at this year’s event, as we have waited three years, we can see everything about the game industry that has developed so far, including game business, exhibitions and experiences, and e-sports viewing, at once.
The export conference (B2B) will be held for two days from May 12 to 13, and the exhibition (B2C) will be held for four days from May 12 to 15 at the 6th, 7th, and 8th halls of Kintex Exhibition Hall 2. During the event period, in 2021, the Gyeonggi e-Sports Festival (subtitled Metropolitan e-Sports Competition) with 68 universities and 1,740 participants will be held concurrently with the Play Expo, providing richer attractions.
In particular, through the pre-registration of applications, more than 150 companies from 28 countries, including China and Japan, Europe, North America, and the Middle East, have already confirmed their application for participation. Representative companies include Microsoft, Nintendo, Sega, and Konami, and leading global companies such as indie game publisher Nicalis, Skystone Games, and Hughes Games will participate.
The conference is conducted both online and offline, and interpretation and biz matching are provided to participating domestic developers. Online biz matching will be supported 24 hours a day in consideration of the business hours of overseas game distribution/distribution (publishing) managers in the Americas/Europe. In addition, benefits such as game promotion video shooting support and overseas media (North America, Southeast Asia) promotion support are also provided to developers who receive them on a first-come, first-served basis.
The exhibition will also be held both online and offline. The offline exhibition will introduce not only computer and mobile games, but also new works by genre, such as console, arcade, indie games, and board games, to provide a place for game enthusiasts to gather and experience.
Companies wishing to participate in Play Expo can participate through the online website (playx4.or.kr) until April 15. Visitors who wish to attend the Play Expo can attend for free by registering in advance by May 11.
