The ‘2025 Game Family Picnic’, a family-oriented experiential game culture event jointly hosted by Seongnam Industrial Promotion Agency and Seongnam Game Healing Center, will be held at Jungwon Youth Center on Sunday, June 22.

This event was hosted by Seongnam City and the Game Culture Foundation with the goal of promoting communication between families and creating a healthy gaming culture that can be enjoyed by all generations. It is receiving favorable reviews as a family-friendly experience festival where citizens of all ages, from children to adults, can come together and enjoy themselves.

In particular, unprecedentedly hot interest continued at the same time as the event recruitment, and a total of 443 families (approximately 1,700 people) applied, showing a participation enthusiasm that far exceeded the recruitment scale. Seongnam City reviewed the application based on reasons for participation, etc. and finally selected 60 families (approximately 250 people).

Game Fam Clinic will feature a variety of 4th industrial revolution experience programs utilizing the latest digital technology, including ▲coding robot competitions using the GEIO gaming robot, ▲VR content that lets you experience the world of work, ▲drone soccer where children and parents team up to compete, ▲a variety of board game experience zones for families to enjoy together, and ▲indie game and metaverse game experiences using special controllers.

In addition, through a family media counseling program conducted by professional counselors for the entire family, we plan to provide practical help and empathy for forming healthy family relationships in a digital environment.

Seongnam Mayor Shin Sang-jin said, “This Game Fam Clinic is not just a simple entertainment venue, but a valuable opportunity for parents and children to communicate and understand each other through games like friends.” He added, “Seongnam City will continue to create a warm cultural city where all citizens can come together across generations and tastes, and a smart cultural ecosystem where technology and empathy coexist.”

Accordingly, Lee Eui-jun, the head of Seongnam Industrial Promotion Agency, said, “This is a representative event that symbolizes Seongnam City’s leap forward as a future-oriented and warm digital cultural city that goes beyond a simple experience,” and emphasized, “We will not spare our support so that it can be expanded into a model for a family/generational integrated policy program in the future.”
