The Korea Mobile Game Association announced on the 18th that while the recruitment of entries for the global indie game festival ‘2022 Indiecraft’ virtual game show was closed on the 14th, 241 domestic and 50 overseas indie games finally applied, the highest number ever.
‘Indie Craft’, which started in 2019 as a new game contest between small and medium-sized indie game developers, held a virtual game show hosted by Metaverse last year, providing a total prize of 100 million won and various commercialization support.
In particular, if selected as the TOP 50 participating in the exhibition, an opportunity to meet with global users and industry officials will be provided through the virtual game show space during ‘Gamescom 2022’, the largest game show in Europe in August as well as in Korea in May.
For this ‘2022 Indiecraft’, the final selection will be announced through the official website announcement and individual guidance on April 29 (Fri) after screening the documents and presentations for the submissions.
On May 25 (Wed), an online virtual game show will be held until the 29 (Sun) along with the opening ceremony of the event, and a local PR center and an online virtual game show will be held during ‘Gamescom 2022’ in August.
Hwang Seong-ik, president of the Korea Mobile Game Association, said, “I would like to thank all small and medium-sized game developers who support the Indiecraft exhibition every year. In particular, this year, we were able to confirm your interest in the exhibition through the largest amount of support ever.” He said, “We will prepare for ‘2022 Indiecraft’ to be reborn as a global game festival through a fair and thorough review.”
