The Korea Artificial Intelligence Game Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association) and Sogang University’s Future Education Center announced that they held a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony for industry-academia cooperation for the development of the game industry at Sogang University’s Future Education Center on February 26.
This agreement aims to establish a cooperative system between educational institutions and the industry and strengthen practical education and research collaboration. Based on mutual respect, the two organizations plan to engage in various joint activities to advance the technological advancement of the gaming industry and enhance its educational competitiveness.
The main contents of the agreement include ▲education and development of new technologies in the game industry ▲exchange of game industry and academic information ▲joint use of research and development and education-related facilities ▲support for student personnel related to the association’s game development and QA work ▲advice and technical support for development staff for training center project classes ▲support for on-site technical training and special lectures for students ▲internships and employment linkages for excellent students ▲national treasury projects and other joint cooperation matters.
In particular, this agreement is expected to expand practical training programs that connect educational settings with industry. Students will gain hands-on experience in game development and quality assurance (QA), collaborate with industry experts, and receive hands-on training to strengthen the practical skills required in the gaming industry.
An association official stated, “The gaming industry is a future core content industry that combines technology and creativity, so cooperation between the industry and educational institutions is very important,” and “Through this industry-academia cooperation, we plan to continuously expand the model for fostering gaming industry talent and research cooperation.”
Meanwhile, the two organizations plan to gradually pursue various cooperative projects, including joint research, educational program operation, and industry-linked projects.
