An underwater farm adventure with cute dinosaurs
A healing adventure of collecting and exploring in a world without equators or time limits.
German indie game studio VoodooDuck announced on the 5th that it will participate in Steam Next Fest, which runs from February 23rd to March 2nd, with a demo version update for its cozy collection adventure game ‘Collector’s Cove’.
“Collector’s Cove” is a relaxing game where you farm on the deck of a ship pulled by a cute dinosaur friend. All progress made in the demo version will carry over to the official release, giving you the advantage of playing the game beforehand.
Four veteran developers have come together VoodooDuck
VoodooDuck is a four-person indie game development team based in Duisburg, Germany. They previously released the soft strategy game “Growth” and are currently developing the healing farming adventure “Collector’s Cove.”
According to the studio’s official website, the team members all have experience in the gaming industry. The creative director worked as a senior game designer at Daedalic Entertainment on “The Lord of the Rings: Gollum.” The technical director spent seven years as a lead programmer at Alchemist Interactive, working on titles such as “Stranded Sails” and “Spells & Secrets.” The art director spent ten years as an art director at Mimimi Games, working on titles such as “Shadow Tactics,” “Desperados 3,” and “Shadow Gambit.”
Debuting at Wholesome Direct 2025
Collector’s Cove first captured the attention of the cozy gaming community when it debuted as a demo at Wholesome Direct 2025 on June 7th of last year. Developed by VoodooDuck, the game is a relaxing farming game set on a small boat pulled by adorable animal companions.
Since then, the game has solidified its position in the indie game scene, being invited to several cozy game events, including Cozy Quest 2025 and Cozy & Family-Friendly Games Celebration 2025. Its Steam store page also boasts numerous award nomination badges.
A collection adventure on the peaceful seas
“Collector’s Cove” is a cozy farming adventure set in the vast ocean. Players sail uncharted waters with their pets, cultivate a floating farm, and discover new islands, crops, and fish, all with the goal of becoming a “Named Collector.”
The core of the game is collecting. Players catch over 60 species of fish and cultivate over 60 crops to fill out their “Collector’s Compendium.” Each climate zone has its own unique local flora, which players explore and document.
There are no enemies in this world. There are only the protagonist, his animal friends, and an ocean full of secrets and surprises. This game reimagines the farming simulation adventure genre with a healing touch, free from stress, pressure, or time constraints.
Bonding with your animal friends
Another compelling aspect of the game is the animal companions that accompany the protagonist on his journey. These large, adorable dinosaur-like creatures aren’t just background elements; they’re characters with whom players can build a bond.
Gamers can customize their animal friends with accessories, unlock new interactions, and grow together. These dependable companions, who even lend a fin when needed, complete the game’s warm atmosphere.
You can even customize your ship into your own personal haven. Craft useful items with collected materials and decorate the ship’s deck and interior to your own personal style, turning it into a home.
Games made with the community
The development team actively embraces player feedback and continues to evolve the game. Since the release of the first demo in June, the team has conducted two closed playtests, and has been improving the game based on the feedback received.
The updated demo, released ahead of Steam Next Fest, includes visual improvements, UI updates, and a new autumn climate zone. The development team is asking for your feedback after playing the demo via Discord, the Steam Community forums, and social media.
The Steam Community Hub documents the development team’s rapid bug fixes and patches. They’re actively engaging with the community, quickly addressing issues like infinite loading screens, water flickering, and French translation errors.
Attending Steam Next Fest on February 23rd
‘Collector’s Cove’ will be participating in Steam Next Fest, which runs from February 23rd to March 2nd. The updated demo is currently available for download on the Steam page, and your progress in the demo will be preserved after the full game launches.
The development team will reveal the official release date along with a new trailer at The Mix Indie Fan Fest on February 19th. The game will be released on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, with additional platform announcements expected soon.
The game supports eight languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Traditional Chinese) including Korean.
VoodooDuck describes the game as “Immerse yourself in the sounds of the ocean and embark on a journey to collect legendary fish and crops at your own pace. There’s no need to rush; just discover this new world and its little joys in peace and quiet.”
