Global indie game publisher 2P Games announced on the 26th that it has released the snake-like action game ‘Reincarnation Insurance Planner RIP’, developed by Warmcore Studio and published by the company, in early access through Steam.
Combining the intuitiveness of Serpentine with the depth of Diablo.
RIP, the reincarnation insurance company, is a hybrid game that combines the intuitive, casual action of the snake-like genre, as represented by Vampire Survivors, with the gear-based progression system of the Diablo series. Despite its short playtime of 15-30 minutes per session, it offers intense combat thrills while also allowing for the enjoyment of dozens of hours of long-term farming and build experimentation.
The daily life of a “zombie insurance agent” unfolds in black comedy.
The game is set in a near-future Earth devastated by a zombie virus. Players assume the role of an ace agent for the global insurance giant RIP Corp., deploying to infected zones across the globe, starting in the wasteland. The mission is simple: eliminate hordes of zombies, rescue survivors, and, most importantly, achieve “company performance.”
The darkly comedic setting, where players must constantly focus on “key performance indicators (KPIs)” and “quarterly goal achievement rates” even on the edge of life or death, satirizes the joys and sorrows of modern office workers while also giving the game a unique identity. Combining screen-filling hordes of zombies with devastating firepower and bullet hell action, the game simultaneously relieves stress and provides a sense of immersion.
A combat system based on Unreal Engine 5, focusing on the feel of the game.
The development team significantly improved the physical feedback, a frequent complaint in the snake-like genre. Utilizing a real-time feedback system based on Unreal Engine 5, they meticulously recreated the feel of each weapon, including the heavy recoil of a shotgun, the sustained impact of a flamethrower, and the sharp cutting sensation of a chainsaw.
In particular, the “aesthetics of violence” are incorporated throughout the battle through effects such as blood splattering in all directions when defeating enemies, severed limbs, and explosions. The impact of impact combined with a high degree of freedom in controls provides a combat experience that never gets boring, even when facing hundreds of zombies.
New strategies for every play, deep equipment system
The strategic equipment system, which transcends simple ability-based growth, is at the heart of the game. Over 50 random option combinations allow for thousands of build combinations. Unique options, such as “Critical Hit Pierces Enemies,” “Freezes Nearby Enemies Upon Hit,” and “Increased Attack Power Proportional to Movement Speed,” transform the very mechanics of the game.
Here, players can experiment with completely different builds with each playthrough, thanks to “Signature Legend Skills,” which completely change a character’s combat style, and the “Set Contract System,” which activates additional effects when wearing the same set of equipment. Players can design a variety of combat styles to suit their preferences, including close-quarters brawling, long-range sniping, wide-area fire, and drone-summoning.
The “God of Wine” system that turns the tide of battle
The game’s unique “Jushin System” instantly changes the course of battle through aerial resupply support. It allows players to summon various elemental abilities, including ice, fire, and lightning, as well as auto-attack drones, rotary cannons, and even satellite laser strikes.
In particular, large-scale air strikes, triggered in moments of life and death, instantly wipe out hordes of zombies covering the screen, delivering overwhelming firepower and a visual thrill. This goes beyond simple survival gameplay and adds the fun of “strategic resource management.”
Community-driven development, promising continuous content expansion.
The development team stated that they aim to create a solid, virtuous cycle between “refreshing action” and “endless growth.” During the Early Access period, they plan to actively gather community feedback with an open mind. They plan to provide long-term “farming fun” through regular bug fixes and content expansions such as new maps, additional weapons, boss monsters, and equipment sets.
