Gachon University (President Gil-yea Lee) announced that it successfully held the “2025 Prospective Graduates’ Achievement Presentation and Job Matching Exhibition” on December 27th at an on-campus event venue for third-year students in the Department of Game and Film, a department with an early employment contract program. The event was designed to share the academic and practical achievements of the Class of 2023, who are scheduled to graduate in the spring of 2026, and to strengthen connections with industry.

The Class of 2023 presented the results of projects accumulated through three years of specialized education and industry-linked practical training. Students showcased their personally developed games and digital content in individual exhibition spaces, demonstrating their portfolios and practical skills. Their results, utilizing emerging technologies like Unity, Unreal Engine, and artificial intelligence (AI), garnered significant attention and positive feedback from industry professionals in attendance.

The exhibition highlighted the achievements of prospective graduates who have been pursuing on-the-job training. Students Lim Gyeong-min (Masangsoft), Lee Sun-hyung (Super Xcon), and Lee Hyeon-woo (Delicious Games) said, “Through the Early Employment Contract Program, I was able to continuously participate in corporate practices while still in school and immediately apply the theories I learned at school to actual projects.” They added, “In an educational structure where studies and practice are organically linked rather than separated, I was able to systematically strengthen my problem-solving skills and practical adaptability as a developer.” The prospective graduates cited the ability to experience on-the-job requirements while still a student as the biggest strength of the Early Employment Contract Program.

Gachon University’s Department of Game and Film Studies cultivates talents immediately applicable to the industrial sector through a practical curriculum that incorporates new technologies like AI and joint projects with partner companies. In particular, the department operates a contract program for early employment, allowing students to participate in practical work while still enrolled, allowing them to balance their academics and practical experience.

These educational and research achievements are recognized for their competitiveness on the international stage. Gachon University’s Department of Game and Film Studies’ real-time interactive media façade AI content, “STORYSYNC,” jointly won the Best of Innovation Award at CES 2026, the world’s largest IT and technology exhibition. Professor Kim Jeong-yoon’s research team from the Department of Game and Film Studies participated in the project, and students enrolled in the early employment contract program participated in content creation through on-the-job training. This achievement is the only one of its kind among domestic universities, and is considered a testament to Gachon University’s world-class industry-academia collaboration-based education and research system.

Professor Kim Jeong-yoon said, “This performance presentation was a place where the capabilities that students have accumulated through experiencing education, research, and corporate-linked practice as a single process were demonstrated in concrete results,” and added, “We will further advance the education and industry-academia cooperation models so that we can continuously produce talented individuals equipped with the skills and sensibilities required in the industrial field.”

In addition, Gachon University plans to continuously strengthen its creative, practical talent training system with field suitability and expandability across the entire gaming, video, and AI convergence fields based on the early employment contract department leading university fostering project supported by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology.
