The Korea Indie Game Association (Chairman Choi Hoon), an incorporated association, signed an MOU with Jeju International Convention Center Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Seon-hwa) on the establishment and operation of an ‘Indie Game Permanent Game Hall’ to expand the exhibition business incorporating domestic game content. They announced that they had signed a contract.

The ‘Indie Game Permanent Game Hall,’ scheduled to utilize idle space within the Jeju International Convention Center (ICC JEJU), visited by 1.2 million people annually, is an experience space where you can play popular indie games representing Korea.

Starting in 2024, game content will change every other month, allowing visitors to enjoy various exciting games and providing new entertainment to visitors through experiential events, which is expected to increase satisfaction.

ICC JEJU CEO Lee Seon-Hwa said, “We will develop exhibitions using game content and expand related businesses to serve as a digital MICE platform,” and added, “We will continue to strive to discover new business models suitable for the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution.”

In addition, Hong Young-ki, vice president of the Korea Indie Game Association, said, “I am glad that we have an opportunity to communicate with the public and actively promote games by selecting excellent, novel and original indie games developed by more than 3,000 association member developers (teams).” “We will do our best to ensure that there are no inconveniences in the fun games and experiences,” he said.

The detailed schedule for the ‘Indie Game Permanent Game Hall’ will be announced through the Naver cafe ‘Indieple’ (link) operated by the Korea Indie Game Association. The experience space will be decorated for December 23, and the Indies participating in the exhibition will be announced. We plan to recruit games and hold exhibition events and full-scale experience events starting in January 2024.
