– Introduction of an AI image generator that creates the desired image by simply entering text
– Driven by API based on generative AI model ‘Stable Diffusion,’ image creation and modification, Korean language support
– Increased development convenience for developers who had difficulty in supplying graphic resources
Supercat (CEO Kim Young-eul) announced on the 3rd that it has officially introduced an AI image generator to its indie game platform and no-coding development tool ‘PUNKLAND’.
The AI image generator introduced in ‘Funkland’ is driven by an AI model, ‘Stable Diffusion’-based API (application program interface), that creates various images based on text.
When a desired image is entered as text in the prompt input window, an image calculated based on the keyword is automatically generated, and one high-quality image can be created for each fast input.
The standard and advanced modes are free of charge, and the general method has an automatic translation function supporting Korean. In the advanced mode, images created typically can be modified, and detailed conditions such as size, accuracy, and negative keyword designation can also be set.
Considering the developer’s usability, the image created through the AI image generator is automatically saved in the project folder in ‘Punkland Studio.’ Easily and quickly generate image resources you want in categories such as characters and items, skill icons, and illustrations, and apply them immediately to the game you are developing.
Supercat released the AI image generator of ‘Punk Land’ as a beta version in June. About 10,000 images were created through the beta version, and then the function was upgraded based on user feedback. It is evaluated that the convenience of development has been dramatically improved for single or small developers who have difficulty supplying graphic resources.
Ha Young-min, team leader of Punk Land, said, “We introduced an AI image generation function to create an environment where game developers can focus only on development. We will continue to look for various ways to do so.”
‘Punkland’ is an indie game platform and a no-coding development tool that provides one-stop support for functions necessary for game development. So far, about 4,700 developers have released more than 100,000 games in ‘Punkland’, and ‘Daksa RPG’, recently introduced by one developer Samsam Games, recorded sales of 100 million won in 13 days of service.
