• The most anticipated indie FPS of 2026 that shook the Japanese and US markets simultaneously without a major publisher
  • Recording 30% on Japanese wishlists and 23% in the US… An ambitious project from a Bulgarian female-led indie studio
  • Twitch integration, procedurally generated battlefields, and weapon mutation systems… Taking the global market by storm just 3 months after development.

Everything is Gun!, a new first-person roguelike action shooter currently under development by Incineration Productions, an indie developer based in Sofia, Bulgaria, is receiving a lot of attention from the global gaming community.

First unveiled at the recent Insider Gaming Showcase, this title generated an explosive response on Steam Wishlists in just five days. It garnered particular attention for being included in the showcase, where a selection committee featuring game journalist Tom Henderson personally handpicked only 12 entries from around the world.

What is even more surprising is the fact that the gameplay shown in the released trailer is the result of approximately three months of work by just three developers. The game is currently in development with a target release on PC Steam in the fourth quarter of 2027.

A constantly changing industrial hell, a living battlefield

Everything Is Gun! is set on the collapsed prison planet A1-KTRZ , where deadly battles are live-streamed for billions of viewers. Players are deployed into a dangerous space where industrial facilities and geometric structures are intermingled, wearing combat suits with their consciousness uploaded.

The game map is reconfigured whenever a player dies. As a result, instead of memorizing the terrain, players must rely on pure control skills such as split-second judgment, aerial maneuvers, and bunny hops.

The visuals are also impressive. The development team has modernized the sharp, linear design characteristic of 1990s arena shooters, and maximized the thrill of high-speed action through screen-filling fragment effects and intense color schemes.

The sound system also changes in real-time according to the battlefield situation. As the player eliminates enemies faster, the environment reacts immediately to adjust the difficulty, and the music increases the BPM to heighten the tension of the battle.

The Binding of Isaac × 90s FPS speed × Grammar of the streaming era

The core of the game consists of three main systems. The first is a powerful synergy system reminiscent of the roguelike game The Binding of Isaac. It offers mutation-type upgrades that completely alter the nature of the weapon, rather than simply increasing stats.

Players can modify the basic weapon into a shrapnel weapon that bounces off walls or fires acid rounds that melt enemy armor. Additionally, they can create unpredictable builds, such as using defeated enemies as triggers for chain explosions.

The second feature is a movement system that emphasizes extreme speed. The game lacks a sprint button, cover system, or aim assist. Instead, bunny hops, dashes, and precise aiming skills are key to survival.

The third is the asynchronous multiplayer-based ‘Ghost Boss’ system. When a player clears a game with a powerful build, their play style, movement patterns, and weapon combinations are recorded. They then appear as powerful bosses in other players’ games, providing new challenges.

Twitch integration is also supported. Viewers can adjust game difficulty or set traps through real-time voting, or conversely, provide bonuses to support the streamer.

Wishlist: Japan No. 1 30%, US 23%… A Cross-Cultural Surprise from 3 Months of Development

Another interesting point demonstrated by Everything Is Gun! is the level of interest by country. Currently, in Steam wishlist statistics, Japan accounts for the highest share at approximately 30%, followed by the United States at 23%. In addition, interest is continuing in various regions such as China, Russia, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Spain.

What is even more noteworthy is the fact that this interest stemmed from an early development version created by just three developers over approximately three months. The trailer released through the Insider Gaming Showcase spread rapidly across social media and gaming communities, and the fact that the selection committee led by Tom Henderson chose only 12 games out of numerous nominees worldwide to be featured in the showcase helped to attract user interest and trust.

It is considered an exceptional case that a small indie development company consisting of three female developers from Eastern Europe is gaining attention simultaneously in the huge markets of Japan and the United States without the support of a major publisher.

“I wanted to create a shooter who respects the player’s skills.”

Incineration Productions is a female-led three-person studio based in Sofia, Bulgaria. Co-founder Gergana Popova explained that a critical perspective on the modern shooter genre was the starting point for this project.

He stated, “Recent shooter games have become overly safe, sacrificing their inherent mechanical depth for the sake of cinematic direction.” He continued, “I missed the fast-paced action characteristic of 1990s FPS games and the days when a player’s movement was their very means of survival,” adding, “I wanted to create a game that truly respects the player’s skill.”

“Everything Is Gun!”, currently in the early stages of development, is emerging as one of the most anticipated new indie titles of 2026, drawing global attention despite being a project created by only three developers over a short period. Interest is particularly focused on its future trajectory as it is a case that has captured the attention of the global market solely through the appeal of its gameplay.
