Aroko Game Studio, an indie game developer based in Lund, Sweden, officially released its emotional puzzle simulation game ‘Packing Life’ on PC (Steam) on March 6th.
The game gained traction through word of mouth for its unique gameplay, heartwarming story, and cozy visuals, and even before its release, it garnered the attention of emotional healing game users through Steam Next Fest and Kickstarter crowdfunding.
“Packaging becomes a puzzle”… Gameplay focused on spatial layout
Packing Life’s core is a simple yet addictive space-placement puzzle. Players, as warehouse workers, must rotate and arrange various items into boxes, ensuring they fit perfectly into each box. The limited space and the various shapes of the items create a unique puzzle every order. The momentary satisfaction of perfectly fitting all the items together is the game’s greatest joy.
As the game progresses, the difficulty of the orders increases. Uniquely shaped objects appear, challenging the player’s spatial awareness and problem-solving skills. Accurately and creatively completing orders will earn various rewards, including stickers and collectibles.
It’s simple enough for anyone to enjoy, but offers enough depth for gamers who are concerned about the optimal layout.
A story in a package …the preciousness of the little things in everyday life.
Packing Life goes beyond a simple puzzle game to tell a small story. At its core, the game centers on the daily life of a warehouse worker dreaming of a better future. As players process orders, they discover the small stories hidden behind each package.
Developer Aroko explained that the game embodies the message that “even repetitive, everyday tasks can hold special meaning for someone.” Rather than flashy battles or grand adventures, the game aims to provide gamers with a relaxing experience through small accomplishments and a heartwarming story.
Decorate your own workspace with cozy visuals and sounds.
The game’s visuals feature a warm, isometric 3D style. Soothing background music and sound effects create a calming atmosphere.
The workspace customization feature is also noteworthy. The ability to customize your own workspace with a variety of decorations and themes not only makes repetitive tasks less tedious, but also encourages gamers to develop a sense of attachment to their own space.
The challenge of Swedish indie development team Aroko Game Studio
Aroko Game Studio , the developer of Packing Life, is a small indie development team based in Lund, Sweden. They work on a variety of projects with the goal of “creating innovative and immersive games that inspire gamers,” and have released games in the tactical action genre.

A must-play game if you liked Unpacking
Interest in Packing Life continues to grow in the gaming community. Many gamers are comparing it to “Unpacking,” considered a representative healing puzzle game of 2021.
The expression, “If Unpacking is a game about taking things out, Packing Life is a game about putting things in,” is being passed around naturally in the community, and among cozy game fans, reactions such as “I’ve already put it on my wishlist” and “The idea of a packing puzzle is refreshing.”
Packing Life officially launched on PC (Steam) on March 6, 2026. It supports Windows, macOS, and Linux, and the game is currently available to play directly from its Steam page.
