NEOWIZ (Co-CEOs Seung-cheol Kim and Tae-geun Bae) announced on the 29th that it has renewed the official website of the narrative indie game development contest ‘NEOWIZ Indie Quest’.

The “Neowiz Indie Quest” is a competition designed to encourage global indie game development and provide creators with a practical development environment. It highlights the value of a robust game narrative, bridging a creative worldview, story, and characters. The ten finalists will receive a total of 165 million won in prize money and access to Neowiz’s strategic consulting services, including game promotion and mentoring. The competition’s key feature is that creators can focus solely on development without the need for separate publishing contracts.

The contest, which has been running for approximately nine months, has revamped its official website ahead of the January 16th deadline. Detailed contest information has been enhanced, and a new “Neowiz Indie Games” menu has been added to provide information on the company’s promising indie games at a glance. Creators from around the world, including Korea, the US, and China, have actively participated, and this renewal aims to encourage last-minute submissions.

Neowiz has been strengthening its position as a global publisher by conducting various activities to discover indie games, in addition to contests. A prime example is the global indie game contest “Narrative Game Jam,” which Neowiz co-hosted with the gaming community platform “Game Jolt” from October 31st to November 10th.

The winners of the contest were ▲1st place ‘The Bunker’, ▲2nd place ‘Duat Forgotten Souls’, and ▲3rd place ‘Luna Magica’. They were recognized for their outstanding game quality and original storytelling, and were awarded a total of $5,000 in prize money.

A Neowiz official said, “When discovering new development projects, including indie games, Neowiz comprehensively evaluates solid IP, clear game identity, and fun that can form a potential fan base,” and “We hope to meet more global creators through ‘Neowiz Indie Quest,’ with the application deadline approaching in about two weeks.”

Meanwhile, Neowiz has shown continued interest in indie games and has published successful indie games such as ‘Skull: The Hero Slayer’ and ‘Sannabi’.
