Neowiz (Co-CEOs Seung-Cheol Kim, and Tae-Geun Bae) announced on the 20th that it signed a publishing contract for ‘Hello Seoul: Itaewon,’ which is being developed by one-person developer Zino Games (CEO Jin-ho Kim).
The puzzle platformer game Hello Seoul: Itaewon deals with the chaos and escape that takes place in Itaewon, Seoul, based on the worldview of the end of the world. It stands out with its devastated Itaewon city center, colorful neon signs, and dot graphics.
‘Hello Seoul: Itaewon’ is the first of a trilogy being prepared by Kim Jin-ho, CEO of Zino Games. The demo version was released through the global PC game distribution platform ‘Steam’ in December 2023, and a Steam Early Access release is scheduled for the second half of this year.
Neowiz, at the forefront of revitalizing indie games, highly evaluated the growth potential of ‘Hello Seoul: Itaewon,’ which has excellent game quality and a unique story. This contract was concluded as part of Neowiz’s indie game publishing strategy to discover and support high-quality games, and a ‘win-win effect’ is expected by strengthening the competitiveness of Neowiz and solo developers such as Zino Games. Furthermore, Neowiz plans to continue actively publishing indie games with solid narratives and gameplay.
A Neowiz official said, “Hello Seoul: Itaewon has been receiving a good response from users since the demo was released,” and added, “We plan to work closely with Zino Games to support the successful global launch of the game in the future.”
Kim Jin-ho, CEO of Zino Games, said, “We are delighted to be working with Neowiz, which is active in discovering and supporting indie games. We will focus on development until the early access launch and strive to provide users unique fun.”
