Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Content Agency(GCA) announced on the 15th that they will recruit future star game content players to participate in the ’19th Gyeonggi Game Audition’ until April 15th.

The Gyeonggi Game Audition, which celebrates its 19th anniversary this year, is a project that discovers unreleased promising game content through document screening, first audition, and final audition and provides various benefits. Any company, team, or individual capable of planning and developing games across the country can participate, and the game must be at a stage where executable files (test builds) can be submitted.

The ten teams selected through document screening and the first audition will hold a final audition (final ranking match) at ‘PlayX4’, the most significant game show in the metropolitan area, on May 25th. This year, the audition stage will be open to the general audience, providing an opportunity to showcase the game to officials and the public. Through the final audition, 1st place (1 team), 2nd place (2 teams), and 3rd place (2 teams) are selected.

The ten teams that advanced to the final audition will receive ▲Total prize money of KRW 200 million (maximum KRW 50 million) ▲Follow-up support programs necessary for development and release, including quality assurance (QA), sound, video, translation, and marketing ▲Gyeonggi game audition within Play Expo Benefits include support for the operation of a booth (promotion and demonstration of winning works), ▲extra points for occupancy at Pangyo Gyeonggi Global Game Center, and ▲audition partner linkage services.

Audition partners and support benefits announced in the first round include ▲AWS Cloud Server Credits (the virtual currency that can only be used with the relevant partners) ▲NHN Game Base (integrated software development tools required for game services) credits ▲Backend (game server management system) credits ▲ One-store marketing support ▲INCA Entworks App Sealing (mobile app security service) credit ▲Thinking Data Thinking Engine (game data analysis solution) credit ▲Q Games Bug Cloud (platform marketing service) credit, etc.

In particular, in the audition selection process, about 20 various experts in the game field, including publishers (distributors), investors, and technical support companies, participate and are given opportunities to build networks and follow-up connections in addition to prize money. Additionally, this year, approximately 100 audience members will participate in the evaluation team, which is expected to be an excellent opportunity to verify the game’s effectiveness.

Last year, about 120 teams applied to participate, and New Core Games’ (CEO Man-Jae Lee) Devil Within: Satgat took first place. So far, works that have won awards at the Gyeonggi Game Audition include Wonder Potion’s (CEO Yoo Seung-hyun)’s ‘Mountain Butterfly,’ which won the 2022 Korea Game Award, and Kiwi Works’ (CEO Jang Soo-young) ‘Witch’s Spring series, which has surpassed 2 million paid downloads at home and abroad. There is.

Kim Tae-geun, head of Gyeonggi Province’s Digital Innovation Department, said, “Gyeonggi Game Audition has established itself as a gateway to game startups representing Korea beyond Gyeonggi Province.” He added, “Many capable game developers (companies) will participate in this audition, which will be the cornerstone of supporting the entire cycle of the game industry.” “We hope you will participate, and we will provide more benefits, including follow-up support, to selected companies.”
