The blockchain game platform Gala Games announced on the 1st that it has officially launched the world’s first blockchain e-sports game ‘Spider Tanks.’
‘Spider Tank’ is a fighting tank shooting game developed by GAMEDIA, a Dutch game developer. Gamers can create their own unique tank by combining more than 30 types of tanks and various weapons and parts and enjoy battles such as team deathmatches and flag capture battles with opposing units.
In particular, various P2E (Play to Earn) models were introduced in ‘Spider Tank.’ Gamers can obtain ‘SILK,’ a game token, by winning games, renting tanks, and ‘Planetary Node.’ A planetary node supports game systems and network environments by utilizing gamers’ computer resources.
‘Spider Tank’ drew attention as a blockchain e-sports game even before its release. Gala Games hosted the e-sports game competition ‘The 1st Spider Tank Esports World Cup’ in Seoul in November of last year and broadcast it live to the world. In June of this year, a game competition was held at ‘Metacon,’ a metaverse event in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
“Spider Tank is an example of how Gala Games is redefining blockchain and gaming,” said John Osvald, Game President of Gala Games.
Meanwhile, Gala Games plans to release the third-person shooter (TPS) game ‘Superior’ on Steam Early Access within the year. ‘Superior’ is a cooperative TPS game that combines the roguelike genre. In addition, Gala Games is developing six triple-A games with domestic game developers.
