The Korea Artificial Intelligence Game Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association) will be accepting entries for the Indie Game Zone exhibition at the ‘2025 Content Universe Korea’ to be held at the Goyang Flower Exhibition Hall in Gyeonggi Province from October 31 to November 1.
This exhibition is a side event held in conjunction with KGDCon 2025 (Game Developers Conference), a leading networking event for Korean game developers. KGDCon has established itself as Korea’s largest developer conference, bringing together professional developers, indie creators, academic experts, and industry insiders to share technological trends and development expertise.
This year, the event will cover next-generation gaming industry topics such as AI, the metaverse, and cross-platform development, and will also feature a collaboration of “conferences” and “meetups,” networking events for overseas game developers, buyers, and domestic industry professionals.
Notably, this year’s Indie Game Zone goes beyond simple exhibitions and operates as a showcase focused on game demonstrations and demos. A free networking environment based on standing tables encourages natural interaction between participants and visitors, expanding business matching opportunities. Furthermore, the party-style game showcase provides a spacious exhibition atmosphere where visitors can view all the entries at a glance. Sponsored by the gaming community platform Gempay, the event’s quality was further enhanced.
Through this partnership, the association plans to support indie game developers in achieving tangible results beyond simple exhibitions, including exchanges with professional conference participants and expanded networking with publishers and industry professionals.
Any South Korean indie game developer, team, or individual is eligible to submit a game, regardless of platform, including PC, mobile, AR, or VR. The competition is open to approximately 10 teams, and a panel of 10 industry experts will evaluate the entries based on criteria such as completeness and exhibition suitability.
Applications will be accepted online from Wednesday, September 10th to midnight on Tuesday, September 17th. Submissions include a developer (team) introduction, a game introduction, and a gameplay video (YouTube URL). A panel of 10 industry experts will evaluate the entries based on factors such as completeness and exhibition suitability. The final selection results will be announced on the Indieple Cafe and via individual email at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, September 24th.
Selected participants will receive various benefits, including a self-contained booth (3 x 3m), basic exhibition furniture, electricity and internet access, press release and promotional support, and publisher networking opportunities. However, participants must provide their own demonstration equipment (PC, monitor, mobile device, VR device, etc.) required for the exhibition.
An association official said, “Indie games are a new growth engine for the content industry in the AI era,” and added, “We will actively support indie game developers to gain attention in domestic and international markets through Content Universe Korea.”
Meanwhile, Content Universe Korea is a comprehensive content festival themed ‘Make Your Imagination Move’, and will showcase the potential of various cultural content such as games, animation, entertainment, AI, and IP commerce.
