Neowiz (Co-CEOs Seungchul Kim and Taegeun Bae) announced on the 11th that it will hold a narrative indie game development contest, ‘Neowiz Quest’.
‘Neowiz Quest’ was created to create a consensus on the importance of a solid narrative in which the worldview, story, and characters are organically connected in the domestic indie game market and to support an environment in which story-centered games can be developed.
Anyone who develops indie games, including individual developers, developers, and aspiring entrepreneurs, can apply for this contest through the official teaser page. There is no entry fee. There are no restrictions on the game genre or platform, but works that have already been commercialized, such as Early Access, cannot be applied.
The application deadline is January 16, 2026, and submitted applications and builds can be modified at any time until the deadline. After a recruitment period of approximately one year, a total of 10 teams will be selected, including the grand prize, best prize, and prize winners. The offline awards ceremony is scheduled to be held on March 6, 2026. With a total prize pool of 165 million won, it boasts the largest scale among the contests held by Neowiz.
A Neowiz official said, “The new future of games will start with the power of narrative, including a solid worldview, original story, compelling characters, and a fandom that is enthusiastic about them.” He added, “Through Neowiz Quest, we will support an environment where more creators can focus on developing narrative-centered indie games, and create a new indie game culture.”
Meanwhile, Neowiz, which has consistently shown interest in indie games, is currently servicing popular indie games such as its first published work, ‘Skull: The Hero Slayer’, and ‘Sannabi’, which received rave reviews for its touching story. This year, it is planning to release ‘Hello Seoul: Itaewon’ and ‘Shape of Dreams’ through a publishing contract. It has also been hosting the ‘Banggu Seok Indie Game Show’ to promote domestic indie games.
