Smilegate Future Lab Foundation (Chairman Kwon Hyuk-bin) announced on the 13th that the 16th graduation ceremony for the ‘Smilegate Membership (hereinafter referred to as SGM) Indie Game Division’ was completed.
This graduation ceremony was where the 16th batch of participating teams, immersed in indie game development for the past 6 months, reviewed and cheered on each other’s projects. The SGM Indie Game Division is Future Lab’s representative creative program that supports young creators in interacting with their peers and advancing their indie game development.
The graduation ceremony was attended by 42 people from 15 teams, including Lizard Smoothie Team, which developed ‘Shape of Dreams’, Igegame, which created ‘Kikikakkicap’, and Drabbit Studio, which developed ‘Soulers’.
The 16th batch of participating teams in the SGM Indie Game category started with a workshop on June 27 and participated in various programs such as five peer learning sessions, one open beta day, and participation in the ‘Burning Beaver 2024’ booth. Hee-beom Jeong, CEO of indie game developer ‘Writers’, said, “We were able to learn from each team’s strengths and grow as a team. I want to continue to build ties with other teams through SGM community activities in the future.”
All teams that participated in the graduation ceremony were awarded certificates. After the graduation ceremony, they will participate in programs such as ‘SGM Going’, an alumni association, and become active members of the SGM community.
Future Lab Foundation Team Leader Hwang Ju-hoon said, “SGM Indie Game Division is a community where creators support each other, share feedback, and grow together,” and added, “We will continue to provide systematic support so that creators can discover greater possibilities and continuously develop through collaboration with their peers.”
