Indie game developer Studio Dudal (co-CEOs Kim Min-jung and Lee Gyu-won) announced that they plan to showcase their 2D soul-like Metroidvania game, Solateria, to visitors at G-Star 2024, which will be held at BEXCO in Busan from November 14th to 17th.
Studio Dudal explained that they are participating in G-Star 2024 to show users the latest demonstration version of Solarteria that has been developed so far. They added that the main purpose is to directly communicate with users who have experienced the demonstration version to further improve the game’s gameplay based on various opinions and suggestions.
In fact, in mid-August, we actively reflected feedback suggested by users at the Busan Indie Connect Festival exhibition. We improved and changed many elements, such as adding creatures with a much more threatening appearance than in the trailer and creatures and level design, and further increasing the immersion into the dark spirit worldview. In addition, we configured the tutorial section to have you meet various NPCs and reinforce exhilarating action based on soul-like action.
Studio Dudal will set up its booth (C05) at BTC Exhibition Hall 1 and promote ‘Solatoria’ to the many visitors. It will also hold its booth event, ‘Stamp Rally’, for visitors who will visit the booth.
In the Stamp Rally event, you can win prizes such as a Solateria can badge, plate sticker, and mini acrylic stand by completing each mission. If you actively participate and collect all the stamps, you can also win a raffle ticket that allows you to draw a Steam gift card worth up to 100,000 won.
In addition, the booth will sell goods related to Studio Dudal’s first work, the 2D precision platformer game LAPIN. The goods include LAPIN long pads, postcards, stickers, and acrylic stands. There will also be a surprise event where users who write LAPIN Steam reviews on-site will immediately be given one raffle ticket.
Studio Dudal co-CEOs Kim Min-jung and Lee Gyu-won explained their thoughts on attending the event, saying, “We decided to participate in G-Star 2024 to introduce Solarteria to domestic users and directly receive on-site opinions to further improve the gameplay. We plan to receive many opinions, determine the direction of improvement, and present even more improved gameplay in 2025.”
For reference, Solateria is the next 2D souls-like metroidvania platformer from Studio Dudal, which launched LAPIN, a 2D precision platformer game featuring the adventures of cute rabbits, on Steam and Xbox Game Pass in 2023, and achieved a 94% “very positive” user review rating on Steam.
In this game, the user is a small spirit born into a world of dying spirits who wakes up after hearing someone’s desperate voice telling him to find the ‘first fire’. The game depicts a journey of adventure to find the ‘first fire’, the only thing that can save the dying spirit world.
Meanwhile, detailed information about Solarteria can be found on the ‘Solateria Steam Page‘.
